Naming: Decide between 'Audit Path' 'Audit Proof' and 'Inclusion Proof'

Description

RFC6962 refers to the list of hashes that proves a given leaf node is included in the Merkle tree as an 'Audit path' (section 2.1.1.).

Later on, the documentation for the method to fetch it mentions 'Merkle Audit Proof'.

Personally I favour 'inclusion proof' which I find less ambiguous.

Proposed fixes:

  • If there's a substantial difference between an 'audit path' and 'audit proof', clearly define both in the RFC (the only additional information sent by the log server in addition to the path is the leaf_index.).
  • If there isn't, decide on a single term and use it throughout the RFC.
