#74 closed defect (fixed)

Multi-address From: fields

Reported by: vesely@… Owned by: todd.herr@…

Component: dmarc-bis Version:
Severity: - Keywords:

Description

The following directive is inconsistent:

Messages bearing a single RFC5322.From field containing multiple
addresses (and, thus, multiple domain names to be evaluated) are
typically rejected because the sorts of mail normally protected by
DMARC do not use this format;

Section 5, Use of RFC5322.From, is the only other place where the typicality of DMARC protection is mentioned. The inconsistency stems from the lack of any means to define which mail is protected by DMARC. If the domain defines a policy, all mail from that domain is affected.
